Cages By Design 

      We would like to thank Cages by Design, located at 7260 Commerce Plaza Drive in Neenah, WI for their donation of a 72”T x 96”L x 48”D cage to our Aviary (at right). We can comfortably house three macaws in this cage (it has two partitions). We have their catalogs available in our Retail Area if you’re interested in seeing what they have to offer – they also make cages for reptiles and other animals.

      The partitions can also be removed, and the cage converted to an aviary; our small flocks of cockatiels and budgies are currently making it their home. The front of the cage is acrylic and the sides and top are strong stainless steel wire mesh. The back of the cage has a picture of a waterfall, also donated by the Company.

      One of our volunteers, Kate, purchased a Cages By Design cage for her Goffin's Cockatoo, Crackers, whom she adopted from the Center. Since Crackers had been confined to a tiny cage and was a severe feather-plucker in her past, Kate wanted something that would make Crackers feel comfortable—not claustrophobic and confined. The cage she chose has a clear acrylic panel on the back as well as the sliding front-doors, and it sits atop a CBD custom cabinet on casters. Kate says Crackers really likes her new cage—so much so that she often chooses to go inside and play!

    Race Air and Water

     We would like to thank Dennis and Kathleen Race for their donation of an air purifier for our aviary. We always have lots of dusty cockatoos in the aviary and this air purifier works wonders keeping the air in the aviary clean and fresh. It has made a tremendous difference in the air quality here at the Center.  Having reduced dust and allergens has made my quality of life much better, too.
