How You Can Help

Many thanks to all who have helped us throughout the years!
Since we moved two years ago, your generous donations and volunteer hours have provided
quality care, medical attention, housing, rehabilitation, and newfound homes to over 1,000 birds!

The Center for Avian Rehabilitation and Education is made possible by your private donations, as we receive no public funding.  Our adoption fees help to cover some expenses such as veterinary exams and treatment.  The sales of our volunteer-made Chip 'n Chew Toys also supplement our income.  When you visit the Center, these toys can be found in the front retail area along with other supplies, food, perches, cages, gifts, and more.  All profit from these items also benefits our birds.  There are several other ways you can donate:

Volunteer

Everyone at CARE is a volunteer, and we always welcome new helpers.  Join us!  Your first step is to complete our volunteer application.

Monetary Donations

Monetary donations can be made when visiting the Center, by sending a check, or online via Paypal (coming soon). Because we are a non-profit organization, these donations are tax-deductible. If you wish to help cover our veterinary expenses, you can either send us a check made out to New Berlin Animal Hospital or make a direct donation if you are there.

Other Donations

You may wish to donate items of your choice - see our Wish List for ideas!

Pick 'N Save Advantage Card

When you sign up for a Pick 'n Save Advantage Card, you can save money on groceries and help CARE at the same time.  Link us to your card and they will donate 1% of your total bill to us each time you shop!  Our organization number is 832005.

Custom Portraits

Are you looking for a special way to capture your bird's beauty and spirit?  Let talented artist Mary Hughes paint a personalized, close-up portrait of your friend!  Mary has graciously agreed to donate a portion of the proceeds from each portrait to CARE, so please mention that you heard about her through us when you place your order.  For more information, including pricing, visit her website.  You may also e-mail her at:Mary Hughes

Please check back at this page in the near future - some samples of her breathtaking work will be posted soon!

         Windy City Parrot

By now, you will have noticed the Windy City Parrot icon (above) on the pages of this website.   If you click on it, you will be taken to their online store.  They provide just about everything you need for your avian companions!  If you plan to place an order, please visit our site first and click on one of the blue icons—the company donates 5% of every sale originating from those links to our Center!  It's a simple way to make a donation; add our Home Page to your Favorites list and it gets even easier.  And when your birds are enjoying their new things, you'll know that you have also helped the birds at CARE.  It's a win-win situation!

Custom Jewelry

You may have seen the bracelets that CARE has been selling for several months.  They are made of Swarovski crystal and sterling silver; they are beautiful and classy.  An easy to use magnetic clasp and special charm top off each bracelet.

These bracelets are handmade by a friend of the shelter, and she has agreed to accept custom orders in addition to supplying CARE with some bird-themed ones.  Earrings and necklaces are also available.  Custom orders are made with your choice of colors, sizes, and various charms (not just bird-themed).  A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each piece of jewelry will be donated to CARE.  Please contact cntrforavianrehab@sbcglobal.net for more information and to place an order.

You can purchase them in the online store
